Ranbir says he loved ‘Dhurandhar’: ‘The entire cast and crew smashed it’

Ranbir Kapoor says 'Dhurandhar' is his current favourite film: 'The entire cast and crew smashed it'

Ever since Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ hit theatres in December, the film has been the talk of the town. While many viewers praised Ranveer Singh for his powerful performance, others couldn’t stop raving about Akshaye Khanna’s commanding screen presence. For the longest time though, fans were wondering why Alia Bhatt was silent on the film. She finally praised the film by resharing a post from her production house. And now, Ranbir Kapoor has showered praised on the film. The actor is not on social media but he went live from the handle of his brand. During a recent live session hosted, Ranbir Kapoor was asked by a fan about his current favourite film and he named ‘Dhurandhar’. Sharing his thoughts with fans, RK said, “Current favourite movie? The last current favourite movie, I guess, was Dhurandhar. I absolutely loved that film. I think the entire cast and crew really smashed it, and really good times at the movies.” In the same interaction, Ranbir also gave an update on his upcoming projects. He confirmed that Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ will be his next release, suggesting that ‘Love & War’ is likely to arrive in cinemas the following year.Meanwhile, veteran actor Sunny Deol also recently reacted to a popular dialogue from ‘Dhurandhar’. In one of the film’s standout moments, Ranveer’s character declares, “Ghayal hun, isiliye ghatak hun.” The line immediately caught attention as Ghayal (1990) and Ghatak (1996) are both iconic titles from Sunny Deol’s filmography. Speaking to ANI about the reference, Sunny said, “Nahi, humare jo director hai, he is a great fan. Unhone meri picture dekhi hai aur unhone Ghayal, Ghatak, yeh sab filmein dekhi hai (No, our director is a great fan. He has watched my films, including Ghayal and Ghatak). So I think just out of respect, maybe he used the dialogue. I mean, they have used the titles, which is very sweet.”Looking ahead, fans are eagerly anticipating the sequel, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ and it is slated to release in theatres on March 19.
