Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Assam today, intensifying the political atmosphere ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. In a significant first, his aircraft will land at a specially prepared Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) on the Dibrugarh–Moran National Highway in Dibrugarh. The visit will feature an aerial display by Rafale and Sukhoi fighter jets in the Prime Minister’s presence, highlighting strategic infrastructure preparedness in the region. Later, the Prime Minister will inspect the newly constructed Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu over the Brahmaputra River, built at a cost of ₹3,030 crore, connecting Guwahati with North Guwahati and reducing travel time to just seven minutes. In Guwahati, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth over ₹5,450 crore, including the National Data Centre at Amingaon in Kamrup district. The visit is expected to energize party workers and add momentum to Assam’s development trajectory.
