'Should get married': Tejashwi Yadav's advise to 'elder brother' Chirag Paswan; Rahul Gandhi responds in jest

Tejashwi Yadav with Rahul Gandhi

NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday took a dig at Chirag Paswan on Sunday, saying some are Hanuman of “special person, but we are Hanuman of the public”.Quipping at Chirag Paswan’s remark that Tejashwi has become a “hanger-on” of Rahul Gandhi, the RJD leader said: “Chirag Paswan is not an issue today… I will definitely advise him; he is our elder brother and should get married as soon as possible.” “It is applicable for me as well,” Rahul Gandhi interjected on a lighter note. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan has often described himself as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Hanuman,” affirming his loyalty to the top BJP leader. During the 2020 Bihar polls, drawing a parallel, LJP President Chirag Paswan said that he does not need to use Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photos for the election campaign in Bihar. “I don’t need to use PM Modi’s photos for campaigning. He lives in my heart; I am his Hanuman. If needed, I will tear open my chest and show it,” Chirag had told ANI. Paswan was contesting solo against the NDA as the LJP (RV) chief was opposed to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, with whom Tejashwi shared the stage after the Vote Adhikaar Yatra, alleged that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has institutionalised attempts to steal votes in Bihar through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and is working in favour of the BJP. “In Bihar, SIR is an institutionalised way for vote theft. Lakhs of voters’ names were deleted; the Opposition is complaining, but the BJP has not complained even once because there is a partnership between the Election Commission, the Election Commissioner and the BJP,” Rahul Gandhi claimed.
