First images of Nancy Guthrie kidnapping suspect out: FBI shares chilling photos of ski-masked man tampering with camera

The FBI released surveillance photos of an armed person in a ski mask tampering with Nancy Guthrie’s home security camera on the morning she disappeared, FBI director Kash Patel said. The black and white photos were “recovered from residual data located in backend systems,” Patel wrote, with four photos showing the suspect.Security camera footage of a person wearing a ski mask, holding what appears to be a plant in front of a camera.“Working with our partners – as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance,” he added. The release Tuesday was the first time law enforcement released anything linked to a possible subject since the 84-year-old vanished 10 days ago, and the first indication that police were focusing on any suspects after what was described as a gruelingly fruitless investigation, New York Post reported.Nancy was last seen on January 31 after her son-in-law dropped her at home. She was reported missing the next day when she did not show up at a friend’s house to stream Sunday church together. The search was declared a criminal investigation on February 2, after a supposed ransom note demanding $6 million in bitcoin arrived at news outlets soon after. The note provided no proof of life, and a final deadline for ransom, which said Nancy would be in danger if it was not paid, came and went on Monday with no apparent event.Police admitted they had no suspects and no leads, as Nancy was described as being in dire need of daily medication for health troubles.
