Political Alert: BJP Targets Rahul Gandhi Over Unpublished Defence Book Leak Claims

A major political controversy has erupted over former Army Chief General M.M. Naravane’s memoir “Four Stars of Destiny” after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi referred to excerpts from the book inside Parliament. Rahul Gandhi clarified that General Naravane had shared a social media post in December 2023 stating that the book was available on Amazon, which he believed meant the book was publicly accessible. However, it has now emerged that the social media post shared by Penguin India was only for pre-orders, not for the official sale or publication of the book. Penguin India has since issued a formal statement saying that the book was never published and no physical or digital copies were officially released. The publisher also clarified that pre-orders were later cancelled and deliveries were stopped before publication. The controversy deepened after an unpublished copy of the book was seen in Rahul Gandhi’s possession, raising questions from the ruling party about how he obtained it. BJP leaders have demanded an explanation, while law-enforcement agencies have initiated an investigation into the alleged leak of an unpublished manuscript. The issue has intensified the political confrontation between the government and the opposition.
