A fresh political controversy has erupted in Parliament over former Army Chief General M.M. Naravane’s book. The issue gained momentum after Rahul Gandhi referred to a quote from the book inside the House. Following this, questions were raised by the government regarding the book’s publication status. Rahul Gandhi defended his statement, claiming that the book was already published in 2023. He said that General Naravane himself had shared a post on social media promoting the book and asking people to buy it. According to Rahul Gandhi, allegations that the book was unpublished are completely incorrect. He also used the issue to target the government on other political matters. Meanwhile, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju strongly criticized the Congress, calling its behaviour inside Parliament inappropriate. He alleged that Congress MPs created chaos, climbed onto tables, and crossed into treasury bench areas, which angered BJP and NDA MPs, including women members. Due to continued protests and confrontation between ruling and opposition members, parliamentary proceedings were severely disrupted, raising concerns about the smooth functioning of the House.
