‘Time to clean house’: Indian-origin Texas GOP leader under fire, old ‘domestic violence case’ involving gun comes to surface

'Time to clean house': Indian-origin Texas GOP leader under fire, old 'domestic violence case' involving gun comes to surface

Indian-origin Texas GOP leader Abraham George came under fire after Republicans flipped a state Senate seat that historically remained with the Republicans. Democrat Taylor Rehmet defeated Republican Leigh Wambsganss by a decisive 57% to 43% in Tarrant County. The result is insignificant legislation-wise as the new candidate will now serve a year of the term, as it was a special election, as the incumbent moved to another post; but as far as political significance is concerned, the result is nothing short of an earthquake, according to experts. While the MAGA blamed the Indian-American community for ‘colonizing’ Texas and voting for Dems, the Indian-origin GOP leader Abraham George came under fire. MAGA social media handles dug up his past brush with the law, demanding his elimination from the post. Before Abraham George became the Texas GOP chairman, police were called to his address in 2023 when he was confronting a man believed to be having an affair with his wife. George had a loaded gun with him. He was not arrested or charged and no one was injured. He and his wife later issued a statement asserting that their marriage was strong. Like every family, they had some misunderstandings and disputes. The police were called by one of his young children who were scared seeing their parents fighting and their father pulling a gun. It was alleged that Abraham suspected his wife had an affair with someone from the church.Another allegation claimed that in 2020, Abraham George had an outburst in his Indian church in Dallas when he allegedly yelled abuses. He allegedly kicked one person with such force that he broke the pastor’s door. Many Indian-American community leaders commented on the Texas result and called it MAGA fatigue, though Indian-American voters could not have caused this swing alone.
