'SSR61' announced: Singeetam Srinivasa Rao makes film at 93: Legendary director returns after 10 years

At the remarkable age of 93, iconic director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao is making a grand return to the director’s chair after a ten-year hiatus. His 61st film, currently known as SSR61, is being produced by the talented Nag Ashwin.

Singeetam Srinivasa Rao has shown that age does not stop creativity. The 93 year old filmmaker is one of the most loved directors in Indian cinema, and now he is making a new movie after ten long years. This new movie is his 61st project and it is called SSR61 tentatively. It is produced by ‘Kalki 2898 AD’s Nag Ashwin. The team has not shared the plot yet, but just the announcement has made everyone excited.

Production team calls him a visionary

The production banner shared the news in a warm and proud way. They wrote, “A visionary. A master. A genius ahead of time.” They also said, “The legendary Director #SingeetamSrinivasaRao garu returns with his most ambitious project yet. #SSR61 – Title Announcement Soon.” The music for the film will be made by Devi Sri Prasad.

Singeetam Srinivasa Rao became very famous after his 1987 silent film ‘Pushpaka Vimana’ with Kamal Haasan. People still talk about how unique and fresh that film was.
