NEW DELHI: Senior Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor on Thursday met Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and party chief Mallikarjun Kharge in Parliament and sought to put to rest speculation of a rift, affirming on a positive note that “we are on the same page” after a “warm and constructive discussion” with both Leaders of Opposition in the two Houses.Sharing the update on his X account, Tharoor wrote, “Thanks to INC India President Kharge ji and LS LoP Rahul Gandhi ji for a warm and constructive discussion today on a wide range of subjects. We are all on the same page as we move forward in the service of the people of India.” The meeting came amid the speculated differences between the MP and the party high command after Tharoor missed an important All India Congress Committee (AICC) meeting to discuss preparations for the upcoming Kerala Assembly polls. The meeting that took place at Kharge’s office in the Parliament comes after Tharoor had acknowledged the “issues” that were due to be discussed with the party leaders. Earlier, when asked about attending the Kerala literature over attending the Kerala poll-related meeting, he had said, “Whatever issues there are, I would have to discuss them with the party leadership, and I look forward to the opportunity to do so. I’m not entering into this issue in public at all.”
