Former Bareilly City Magistrate Alankar Agnihotri has vacated his official residence following his resignation, even as the Uttar Pradesh government has initiated disciplinary proceedings against him. The state administration has suspended the officer and directed a departmental inquiry, citing issues related to administrative indiscipline. The probe has been entrusted to the Divisional Commissioner. Agnihotri has made serious allegations against fellow officers, claiming that he was unfairly restrained and subjected to undue pressure. In an interview with ABP News, he alleged that a systematic bias against the Brahmin community is prevailing within the state system. He also stated that he had communicated his concerns to Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand. Pending the outcome of the investigation, Agnihotri has been attached to the District Magistrate’s office in Shamli. The episode has added a sensitive social and administrative dimension to the unfolding controversy in Uttar Pradesh.
