Tension escalated in Kolkata’s Behala area on Monday after a violent clash broke out during a political programme, where miscreants allegedly set fire near a stage where BJP leader and former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb was scheduled to address supporters. According to BJP leaders, the incident occurred amid heightened political rivalry, with the party accusing Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers of carrying out a planned attack to disrupt the event. BJP claimed several party workers were injured, and vehicles were damaged during the chaos. Heavy police deployment followed the incident to restore order, while investigations are underway. TMC has denied the allegations, calling them politically motivated. The incident has further intensified the political temperature in West Bengal ahead of upcoming events.
