Anupam opens up on ‘Mr India’ exit

Anupam Kher opens up on 'Mr India' exit; REVEALS 'best friend' Anil Kapoor got him fired; Boney Kapoor didn’t inform

Veteran actor Anupam Kher recently grabbed attention after his son Sikander Kher shared a funny video on Instagram with a caption that read, “For Javed Akhtar (uncle), Boney Kapoor, Amrish Puri (legend), Anil Kapoor, Shekhar Kapur (uncle) … enjoy #KherSaab after his tooth removal.”The video shows a very real and playful moment between father and son. Anupam had just gone through a dental procedure, and one side of his cheek was numb. Sikander jokingly pretended to hit him, and the two kept teasing each other. As Sikander teased him, Anupam asked, “Kya karne wala hai (What are you about to do)?” When Sikander moved closer, Anupam warned him, “Zyada zor se laga na, ulte haath ka marunga, naak pe teri, naak tod dunga (If I get hurt badly, I’ll slap you on your nose and break it).”Sikander still pretended to hit him, and Anupam played along, holding his cheek in pain. Sikander asked, “Kya karoge aap? (What will you do)?” The fun continued with more jokes and laughter.

Old movie dialogue and cute banter steal hearts

As the teasing continued, Anupam suddenly said one of his famous dialogues from Karma, where he had shared screen space with Dilip Kumar. When Sikander tried again, Anupam turned his face away and said, “Nahi nahi nahi beta (No no no son).” When Sikander didn’t stop, Anupam held his hand and said, “Aisa nahi karte. Mat kar (You shouldn’t do this. Don’t do it).” Finally, Sikander gently touched his cheek instead. When Sikander said he would post the video online, Anupam quickly replied, “You’re not going to post this. It’s a personal thing between us.” The video was still shared, and fans loved the warm bond between them.

Anupam Kher talks about Mr India shock

In the same video, Anupam Kher started talking about his past film journey. He revealed a shocking truth about the 1987 film Mr India. Anupam said he was first cast as Mogambo. Later, he was removed from the role and replaced by Amrish Puri.Talking about it openly, Anupam said, “Javed saab threw me out of Mr India. Not Javed saab, it was Anil Kapoor, who is my best friend, and Boney Kapoor too. They didn’t tell me until the end.”He shared that he was not informed properly and found out very late. Even though it hurt, Anupam spoke about it calmly and honestly.

Honest acceptance and respect for Amrish Puri

Anupam Kher also showed great honesty and respect while talking about the role. He admitted that he might not have done justice to Mogambo the way Amrish Puri did. He said he could not have played the role “as brilliantly as Amrish Puri.”On the work front, Anupam Kher was last seen in his own directorial film ‘Tanvi The Grea’ which received decent reviews.
