Brooklyn Beckham has issued a bombshell statement, spilling the tea on his long-rumoured family feud with parents David and Victoria Beckham. In a strongly-worded post, Brooklyn made it clear that reconciliation was not on the cards as he listed down the many ‘lies that have been printed’ over the years. In a lengthy note shared on his Instagram Stories, the 26-year-old said he felt he had “no choice” but to speak out and take a stand for himself and his wife, actress Nicola Peltz.“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” Brooklyn began and went on to add, “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade.”
David and Victoria trying to ruin Brooklyn’s relationship with Nicola
In his statement, he claimed, “My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.”He then went on to address claims about a feud breaking out at his wedding and listed down the incidents, claiming, “My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.” He further alleged that David and Victoria “repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe” him into “signing away the rights to” his name ahead of the wedding. He claimed “They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.” He also alleged that on the night before the ceremony, “members of [his] family” told him that Peltz was “not blood” and “not family.”During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me ‘evil’ because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola’s Naunni at our table, because they both didn’t have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.”
Brooklyn Beckham claims Victoria Beckham interrupted first dance
Brooklyn also confirmed previous reports that Victoria interrupted the couple’s first dance at their wedding, describing the moment as “deeply hurtful.” “Brooklyn added that before the wedding, his family told him that Nicola was “not blood,” and claimed Victoria “hijacked” his first dance with Nicola, saying “In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”Revealing why they later renewed their vows in August 2025, Brooklyn said, to “create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”
Brooklyn on the Beckham’s social media game
While he did not directly mention his siblings Romeo, Cruz and Harper, Brooklyn criticised what he described as his family’s prioritisation of public image. “Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last summer.”The Beckhams, he wrote, “value public promotion and endorsements above all else” because “brand Beckham comes first.” He added, “Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.”
Brooklyn on the Beckhams not supporting Nicola
He also claimed that despite years of showing up for family events, Victoria refused to support a cause important to Nicola. “But the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused,” he wrote.Addressing speculation that Peltz controls him, Brooklyn pushed back strongly. “I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,” he said. “I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.”He concluded the statement by saying, “My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”
Brooklyn on skipping David’s 50th birthday
Rumours of tension within the Beckham family have circulated since Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding. The rumours only intensified last year when the couple appeared to skip David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations. In his statement, Brooklyn claimed, “[My dad] refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner,” he alleged. “When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face.”Representatives for David and Victoria Beckham have not responded to the statement. Go to Source
