‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ showed no signs of slowing down, topping the North American box office for the fifth consecutive week over the long holiday weekend, industry estimates showed Sunday.

Debuting in second place with a disappointing USD 15 million was ’28 Years Later: The Bone Temple’, the fourth installment in the zombie horror series, which comes less than a year after the last film.
‘Zootopia 2’ becomes Hollywood’s highest grossing animated film
Disney’s feel-good animated film ‘Zootopia 2’ showed its staying power, moving up to third place at USD 12 million over the four-day weekend. The blockbuster sequel has reportedly amassed an impressive USD 1.7 billion at the global box office, surpassing the 2024 release ‘Inside Out 2’, which earned USD 1.69 billion. With this, ‘Zootopia 2’ has become Hollywood’s highest-grossing animated film of all time. China’s ‘Ne Zha 2′, continues to hold the overall record for animated films with a staggering USD 2.25 billion.’Zootopia 2’ has also secured its place among the highest grossing films of all time, taking the ninth spot on the list of the highest-grossing global release. It now sits just behind the superhero film ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ which earned a lifetime collection of USD 1.9 billion, and ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ which earned a lifetime collection of USD 2 billion.
‘The Housemaid’ box office collections
In fourth place at USD 10.2 million was ‘The Housemaid’, an adaptation of Freida McFadden’s best-selling novel about a young woman who is hired by a wealthy couple with dark secrets. Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried star in the Lionsgate release. The film has grossed a total collection of USD 109 million in the United States and Canada, and an aditional USD 139 million in other territories.
