Speculation about Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur’s relationship intensifies with marriage rumors, while an old family moment resurfaces. Dhanush recently shared a proud post about his son Yatra’s graduation, highlighting his role as a parent alongside ex-wife Aishwarya. Their respectful separation in 2022 and subsequent divorce in November 2024 are recalled.

Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur have been linked together since last year. Many people on social media believe they are dating even though neither of them has confirmed it. Recently the buzz became stronger after online talk claimed that the two were planning to get married. Some reports even said the wedding might happen in February.While fans keep guessing about Dhanush’s personal life an old moment from his past has now come back into focus.

A proud moment as parents

In June 2025, Dhanush shared two special photos on Instagram. The pictures were from their son Yatra’s graduation day. In the photos Yatra is seen wearing a deep blue graduation gown and cap. Both parents stood close to their son and hugged him with pride. Dhanush captioned the post, “Proud Parents #yathra,” along with two heart emojis.

Dhanush and Aishwarya got married in 2004. They have two sons, Yatra and Linga. Even after their separation they have always shown respect for each other as parents.When they announced their separation in 2022 Dhanush shared a note on X. He wrote, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, parents, and well-wishers. The journey was filled with growth, understanding, and adaptation. Today, we find ourselves on separate paths.”He also added, “We’ve chosen to part ways as a couple to better understand ourselves as individuals. We request your respect and privacy during this time.” The message was calm and respectful.

Aishwarya’s message

Aishwarya Rajinikanth shared the same statement on Instagram. She wrote, “No caption needed… only your understanding n your love necessary!”Their divorce was officially granted by the Chennai Family Welfare Court in November 2024. Since then, both have moved ahead in their own ways.Fast forwarding to the present, amid all the relationship rumours with Dhanush, Mrunal Thakur shared her first Instagram post. She described herself as “grounded, glowing and unshaken”.
