‘Vivek Oberoi suffered injuries, that was the biggest reason he left the industry’

'Vivek Oberoi suffered injuries after a bad accident and that one of the biggest reasons why he left the industry,' says his former fitness trainer

Vivek Oberoi made his debut with ‘Company’ alongside Ajay Devgn and became an overnight star. He followed this film with a love story like ‘Saathiya’ which further helped him cement his space within the industry. However, his career did not go the direction everyone expected and there have been several reasons for it. Now Vivek is a successful entrepreneur and was recently seen in ‘Masti 4’. While there were several reasons for him to step away from the industry, now his former fitness trainer has revealed that his accident and injuries was pivotal for his career taking a backseat. Vivek’s former trainer Vinod Channa revealed that the actor had a life-threatening incident. He shared during a chat with Hindi Rush, “He had a very bad accident, which caused him a lot of injuries. This was one of the biggest reasons why he left the industry. People must have assumed it was his depression that caused him leave the industry. That’s not fully true. He also left because of his injuries.”He went on to highlight Vivek’s capabilities beyond acting, adding, “He is a very talented guy. He is the best business tycoon. His business management skills stunned me. He is called by MBA people. He has a very different level of talent,” praising the actor’s sharp business acumen.Earlier, Vivek himself had spoken about the terrifying incident during an interview with Mashable India. Recalling the near-fatal accident that occurred while shooting for his 2002 film Road, he said, “I was shooting in Rajasthan for Road. We were going from Bikaner to Jaisalmer. Beautiful roads, beautiful drive, but it was at night. I told the driver at least 15 to 20 times to drive slowly; ‘it is night, visibility is low, drive slowly.’ I was in the front seat, and after that incident, I haven’t sat in the front seat ever.”Describing how close he came to losing his life, Vivek further explained, “I reclined my seat, and suddenly there was a huge crash, a massive sound. On the road, suddenly, a camel cart came, which was carrying rods. The rods had smashed the windshield, and if my seat had been straight, those rods would have gone into my body. I couldn’t get out of the car because the rods were above me. But I was unscathed. Almost died. After that, I decided not to travel at night.”
