Dhurandhar 2: Aditya begins editing trailer of Ranveer starrer

'Dhurandhar 2': Aditya Dhar begins editing trailer of Ranveer Singh starrer; Akshaye Khanna to appear in flashbacks only - Reports

Akshaye Khanna returns as Rehman Dakait in limited flashback scenes for ‘Dhurandhar 2’, already shot. No new filming with him now. Post-production ramps up with trailer edit by late February and March 19 release. Shashwat Sachdev scores; Ranveer Singh leads the Jio-B62 sequel.

Following the massive success of ‘Dhurandhar’ Part 1, it was reported that Akshaye Khanna would be back in ‘Dhurandhar 2’ owing to his massive popularity and critical acclaim for his character, Rehman Dakait. However, a new development has suggested that he is not involved in any of the current shoots for the second part of the Aditya Dhar helmed film. While the actor is firmly cast in the second part that fans can’t wait for, no new filming schedule with him is happening right now.

Limited role in flashbacks

According to Pinkvilla, Khanna’s presence in ‘Dhurandhar 2’ will be limited to a couple of flashback scenes, which were shot during the film’s initial schedules. There is no additional filming happening with Akshaye at the moment. His portions were wrapped earlier and are part of key flashback moments in the narrative. Meanwhile, work on part 2 has entered a crucial post-production phase. Director Aditya Dhar is presently locked in on cutting the film’s trailer. The makers are aiming for a trailer release by the end of February. Aditya is sitting on the trailer edit. The idea is to deliver something impactful again.

Dhurandhar’s Success Forces Bollywood To Rewrite Rules

Post-production work accelerated

As per the report, Shashwat Sachdev has simultaneously begun work on the film’s background score. Both sound and visuals are being treated as top priority. The team gears up for ‘Dhurandhar 2’ release in cinemas on March 19.

‘Dhurandhar 2’ is picking up steam in pre-production, as Jio Studios and B62 Studios prepare for a top 2026 blockbuster. The project comes from producers Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar under Jio Studios and B62 Studios, with part one showcasing Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R.
