Rapper and music producer Yo Yo Honey Singh has issued a public apology after a video from his recent stage appearance in Delhi went viral, sparking widespread criticism over a sexually explicit remark. In a video statement shared on his official social media handle, Honey Singh apologised to those who felt offended by his words and acknowledged that his language may have crossed a line.

“I’m sorry to those who were offended by my language. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. I’m human, and I make mistakes. I’ll try not to repeat this mistake again,” the rapper said, adding that he would be more mindful of how and to whom he speaks in the future.

Context behind the controversial comment

Explaining the circumstances that led to the remark, Honey Singh said the viral clip was edited and lacked context. He revealed that he was attending the event as a guest at Nanku and Karun’s show and that his intention was to convey a message about safe sex to a younger audience. The rapper claimed that days before the show, he had interacted with gynecologists and sexologists who spoke about the growing prevalence of sexually transmitted diseases among the youth due to unprotected sex. “When I went on the show and saw the Gen Z audience, I thought I’d give them a message in their language—to use condoms and play safe. But that language offended some people,” he said.

Viral clip sparks outrage online

The controversy erupted after a video from the Delhi concert surfaced online, showing Honey Singh making sexually explicit remarks while addressing the audience amid the city’s cold weather. While the crowd at the venue responded with loud cheers, the clip triggered sharp criticism on social media, with many calling the comments inappropriate and irresponsible.

Rapper promises to be more careful

Concluding his statement, Honey Singh said he would exercise greater caution going forward. “I’ll be more careful about what I say, how I say it, and to whom I say it. I’ll also keep in mind that my words can be taken out of context,” he said. Go to Source
