‘Not blaming anybody’: Renee Good’s Republican father-in-law speaks out after fatal ICE shooting

'Not blaming anybody': Renee Good's Republican father-in-law speaks out after fatal ICE shooting

The shocking ICE murder of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis has taken America by storm. From the administration saving face by blaming the victim to the civilians protesting against the agency, the incident exposed to many the dark reality of ICE operations and their fatal consequences. Good was a poet and mother and most of her family members who have reacted to her loss have lamented the incident and called out the Trump administration for falsely blaming her for her fate. However, one of the late victim’s former family members, her ex-father-in-law, has now broken the silence on what he thinks of the ICE shooting and his former daughter-in-law’s death.

Good’s father-in-law speaks out

Timmy Macklin is the father of Good’s late ex-husband, Tim Macklin Jr. who was her second husband and died in 2023. He is also the grandfather of her 6-year-old son, Emerson. Speaking on CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront on Tuesday, Macklin, a proud Republican and Trump supporter, said he believed the circumstances around Good’s death were “hard for everybody involved.”“I’m not blaming anybody,” he said. “I mean, the ICE agent, you know, at first I didn‘t see the footage where… he was actually being rammed. I mean, I‘ve seen the bumper of the car hitting his legs. And so in a flash like that, it‘s hard to say how you would react.”“Do I agree with everything that she did? Absolutely not,” he added, about Good. The deeply religious individual also described Good’s wife Becca as a “great person” but added, “I think there’s some bad choices… if we’re walking in the spirit of God, I don’t think she would have been there. That’s the way I look at it.”

Timmy Macklin calls out ICE agent Jonathan Ross

Jonathan Ross, the ICE agent who shot Good in the head on January 7, 2026, called her a “f****** b****” in the video footage of the incident shot on his camera. Calling out the ICE agent, Good’s father-in-law said that he needs to turn to the Bible. “His statement that he made after the incident, the things he called her, I mean, that‘s definitely showing evidence that he that he don‘t know the Lord like he should,” said Macklin.

Timmy Macklin reacts to Trump’s response to the ICE murder

On Tuesday, CBS Evening News anchor Tony Dokoupil relayed to the President that he had been in conversation with Good’s biological father who is a Trump voter, despite his daughter’s apparent opposition to ICE. “I’ve been speaking to her father, who is a big supporter of yours, like many Americans are, but he’s heartbroken right now,” Dokoupil said. “He’s also heartbroken because your administration so quickly has come out and said she’s a domestic terrorist.”“I would bet you that she, under normal circumstances, was a very solid, wonderful person. But her actions were pretty tough. I’ve seen it many ways and many different shapes and forms,” replied Trump. When Burnett played Trump’s message to Macklin, he claimed: “I’m a Trump supporter myself.” “Renee was an amazing person, she was full of life, full of joy, a real gentle, good mother. I just think we make bad choices and that’s the problem,” he added. Go to Source
