Vir Das’ film ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’ is set to arrive in theaters this week. Vir Das shares Aamir Khan’s reaction to the film
In an interview with India Today, Vir Das shared Aamir Khan’s reaction to ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’. He told the interviewer that Aamir said four key things to him, and they are “Tumney hatkey film banai hai (You have made a different film),” “Hero pitta rehta hai (The hero keeps getting beaten up),” and “In the love track, the woman has upper control; you are a bad dancer.”
Vir Das on India’s Gen Z
In the same conversation, Vir Das also talked about India’s Gen Z. He said, “They’re a self-aware generation and very authentic.” The actor also talked about one different quality of the new generation. He added, “It is a weird thing to broadcast your life while living it, whether they go to the Diljit show, Coldplay and Vir show. We cannot relate to that. Their tribe is very important to them.”The actor was then asked to share the factors that get this new generation together. To which, he said the people always “gather around truth.” Vir cited his own example and added that he remembered people coming for Nirbhaya. He said, “How do you get behind any truth right now? Because everything has a different version. For example, the problem of AQI is the truth, which cannot be denied.”

In the film, Vir Das will be seen playing the character who is raised in England and trained to be in India after his mother passes away. His character goes against the Goan Mafia after returning to India. The actor shared that “the movie takes every NRI trope and proves it wrong.”Directed by Vir Das and Kavi Shastri, the film stars Vir Das, Abhishek Bhalerao, and Ellie Flory Fawcett. Aamir Khan and Imran Khan will be making special appearances in the movie. It is slated to hit theaters on January 14, 2026.
