US department of homeland security on Sunday released a new video showing the moments just before a federal agent with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) shot and killed Renee Good in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The incident has sparked protests, political debate and calls for accountability across the United States. The video, shared by DHS, shows Good’s vehicle partially blocking a residential street in south Minneapolis. Several cars are seen passing her car, and people in uniform stand at a distance.

About 40 seconds in, Good is seen moving inside her car as honking can be heard, though it is not clear where the honking comes from. At around three minutes, a truck believed to be an ICE vehicle pulls up, and agents get out. The video ends just before the shooting. Videos from different angles have been shared online, showing parts of the confrontation and adding to competing accounts of what happened.The Trump administration have defended the agent’s actions, saying Good and her vehicle posed a threat, though local leaders and critics dispute that narrative. The shooting has led to days of demonstrations in Minnesota. On Tuesday, police used tear gas to disperse protesting crowds. State and local officials have also filed a lawsuit against the federal government over the broader immigration enforcement surge that led to the incident.Good was shot in her SUV in a residential neighbourhood south of downtown Minneapolis on January 7.
