‘Coolie’, the much-awaited action thriller featuring superstar Rajinikanth and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, had a thunderous start at the box office. The film witnessed a remarkable surge in its first four days, and then business slowed down. Yet, the movie managed to keep a grip on the audience. ‘Coolie’ holds steady on Day 8

On its eighth day, the film added around ₹6.25 crore India net (all languages, early estimates) to its tally. With this, the movie missed the Rs 230 crore mark by a whisker. Yet, it outshone ‘War 2’ starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, which made over Rs. 204 crore, with a business of Rs. 5 crore on day 8, i.e., Thursday.

Day-wise collection since the film’s release

Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’ has enjoyed a good run at the box office since its release. The film opened with a massive ₹65 crore on day 1 and continued to attract huge crowds over the weekend, collecting ₹54.75 crore on Friday, ₹39.5 crore on Saturday, and ₹35.25 crore on Sunday.As expected, weekday collections saw a dip, with ₹12 crore on Monday, ₹9.5 crore on Tuesday, and ₹7.5 crore on Wednesday. As abovementioned, on Thursday, ‘Coolie’ added another ₹6.25 crore (early estimates), taking its total India net collection to ₹229.75 crore.

Language occupancy on Day 8

On Thursday, August 21, 2025, ‘Coolie’ managed an overall 17.67% occupancy in the Tamil version. On the other hand, the film registered an overall 10.64% occupancy in the Hindi version, and it witnessed a 14.99% in the Telugu version.
