Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer Jonathan Ross fatally shot Renee Nicole Good on a snowy street in south Minneapolis during a confrontation on Wednesday as she tried to drive away, as debate continued over whether his actions were justified. Trump administration figures, including President Donald Trump, defended Ross and claimed that Good was an agitator who attempted to run him over with her SUV. Witnesses told NBC News that it did not appear Ross was in the direct path of Good’s SUV as she tried to evade ICE officers.Ross: A war veteran Ross served in the military and worked for the govt for years before the shooting. As a member of the Indiana National Guard, he was deployed to Iraq from November 2004 to November 2005, NBC news reported. Specialist Ross of the 138th Signal Battalion earned the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal and the Iraq Campaign Medal, among others, according to the guard. Court documents showed that during his time in Iraq, Ross was a machine gunner on a combat logistical patrol team. After he returned home, Ross joined the US Border Patrol in 2007 in El Paso, Texas, and worked for the agency until 2015 as a field intelligence agent who gathered and analysed information on drug cartels and human traffickers. ‘Ross is Christian, conservative,’ says father Ed Ross, 80, defended his son’s decision to shoot Good, in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail.”‘She hit him,’ said Ed Ross, 80. ‘He also had an officer whose arm was in the car.
