'Pennu Case' Twitter review: Did the Nikhila Vimal starrer entertain the audience? Netizens comment

Malayalam film ‘Pennu Case’ has released today, with paid premieres generating mixed reactions online. Following the postponement of Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’, makers of Malayalam film ‘Pennu Case’ moved up the release, and the film hit the big screens today. So, did the comedy drama manage to entertain the moviegoers? Let’s check out what the netizens have to say.An X user, who watched the film on the first day, couldn’t really enjoy the film, and expressed that thought the subject was decent, but it didn’t come out well. “Watched #PennuCaseFelt like watching a short film inside the theatre. Good subject, but thin storyline. Poor production quality. Mid direction. Writing is bad, as none of the humor worked. Nikhila Vimal was expressionless. Hakkim did well. Others dummy. Highly predictable climax,” wrote one. Another moviebuff, who managed to get tickets for the premiere on January 9, said, it’s a ‘harmless entertainer’. “Resting firmly in the category of the ‘harmless entertainer,’ Pennu Case positions itself as a simple, crisply edited film inspired by real-life incidents. It is a movie that neither soars to greatness nor sinks into mediocrity, finding a comfortable grounded,” the X user said. Another found the film a decent one-time watch. “Nice movie. A one-time watchable entertainer.” The netizen also added that Nikhila Vimal nailed the climax sequence. “Hakkim, Aju (Varghese), Ramesh Pisharody & Nikhila vimal stolel the show with standout performances. Production quality also superb, especially cinematography, music, and bgm.” Another cinegoer expressed that the humor worked well, and is an ‘above average’ film. “#PennuCase – Watched this film in the premiere show (10 pm). Above average to okayish feel, neat performances by Nikhila and Hakkim Shah, crisp runtime, but felt few lags in both, good message in post climax, few humours works good, decent bgm, overall one time watch… try or skip,” the post on X read. Looks like the lead cast, Nikhila Vimal and Hakkim Shajahan, have given their best and entertained the audience, and the supporting cast too did justice to their roles.
