As per early estimates on Sacnilk, ‘Ikkis’ earned around Rs 4.65 crore India net on Day 3. This was a slight improvement over its Friday numbers.

The war drama opened in cinemas on New Year’s Day with an impressive Rs 7 crore collection. However, collections dipped on Friday to approximately Rs 3.5 crore. With Saturday’s earnings added, the film’s total India net collection now stands at an estimated Rs 15.15 crore.

‘Ikkis’ gross total collections

In terms of gross figures, Ikkis has collected around Rs 18 crore in India. Coupled with approximately Rs 1.75 crore from overseas markets, the film’s worldwide total has reached an estimated Rs 19.75 crore.

As per an update by the film’s production, ‘Ikkis’ earned an estimated Rs 11.7 crore in 2 days of its release. The as per a poster released by the film’s team, the film opened with a collection of Rs 7.28 crore and went on to earn Rs 4.2 crore the following day.

‘Ikkis’ occupancy

On Saturday, the film recorded an overall 20.69% Hindi occupancy. While the film’s morning shows opened at 7.95%, footfalls seemed to pick up through the day, with afternoon shows at 20.24% and evening shows at 26.34%. As per the report, the night shows witnessed the highest turnout, with an estimated 28.21% occupancy.

‘Ikkis’ vs ‘Dhurandhar’

While ‘Ikkis’ has earned praise on social media for its emotional story, treatment of a real-life war hero, and the ‘perfect’ farewell to late veteran star Dharmendra, it has been unable to counter the box-office dominance of the spy action film ‘Dhurandhar’. The Ranveer starrer continued its historic run on Saturday, returning to double-digit daily figures with an estimated Rs 11.75 crore. This helped push the film’s total collection to an estimated Rs 759.50 crore, as per Sacnilk.

‘Ikkis’ vs ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’

Besides facing off against ‘Dhurandhar’, ‘Ikkis’ has also been facing stiff competition from the Hollywood release ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’. The movie which is in its third week at the box office, has managed to match its box office numbers, earning an estimated Rs 4.50 crore on Saurday. The film also earned in the Rs 3 crore range on Friday, almost matching its box office total.

‘Ikkis’ among highest earning films by debutants

Although Agastya Nanda made his film debut in ‘The Archies’, ‘Ikkis’ marks his theatrical debut. With the film opening its box office collections to an impressive Rs 7 crore, puts it among the top 10 highest earning films at the box office led by a debutant.

Amitabh Bachchan lauds ‘Ikkis’

Amitabh Bachchan penned a heartfelt note for his grandson Agastya Nanda, saying his performance in “Ikkis” was nothing but perfection in every shot.Bachchan, who attended the screening of the film in Mumbai, shared a note on his personal blog, lauding his grandson’s maturity and unfiltered honesty in his performance.”Tonight to see him in frame, unable to take my eyes off each time he fills the frames of the film .. his maturity, his unfiltered honesty in his performance, his presence justifying the character he portrays .. nothing frith or froth , just the Arun Khetarpal soldier , who fought in his bravery as the 21-year-old , defending the nation during the India -Pak war of 1971 .. nothing excessive , just the perfection in every shot,” he wrote.”When he is in the frame you only watch him .. and this is not a grandfather speaking, this is a hardened viewer of cinema .. ‘Ikkis’ stars Agastya Nanda as Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who was martyred at the age of 21 during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
