On December 31, 2025, Bollywood made headlines with several noteworthy developments. Salman Khan’s Battle of Galwan drew backlash in China, while Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared honeymoon pictures with Raj Nidimoru on social media. Meanwhile, Anu Malik sought credit for the recreated song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ in Border 2, and Shah Rukh Khan made a public appearance at an event in Dubai.

Anu Malik on Border 2 song credit

Anu Malik has claimed that he deserves credit for the recreated song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ in Border 2, which is based on the iconic track ‘Sandese Aate Hain’. Speaking to PTI, the composer said, “I believe the song is recreated. I’m not a part of it, but I’m sure they will give my name because I’ve created the song. They should, because people know our contribution — they can’t get away with it. They can’t make Border 2 without ‘Sandese Aate Hain’. Both Javed Akhtar and I are up there in terms of contribution, so they will have to credit us somewhere.” He added, “I think it is going to be brilliant because Sonu is a fabulous singer, one of the best we have today, and Arijit is a magical singer. It will be a magical combination of Arijit and Sonu together, but the tune will always be Anu Malik’s. You can’t get away from Anu Malik and Javed sahab — the lyrics he wrote are extraordinary.”

Battle of Galwan faces backlash in China

Salman Khan’s upcoming war film Battle of Galwan has triggered international controversy, particularly among Chinese viewers who have voiced strong objections online. According to Global Times, several users alleged that the film distorts historical facts surrounding the India-China border clash, following the release of a teaser. On Weibo, user @QingningRiyue claimed that Battle of Galwan “contradicts the facts,” while another user, @Situka98, wrote, “When history falls short, Bollywood steps in.” As reported by PTI, Global Times quoted a Chinese expert as saying, “Bollywood films at most provide an entertainment-driven, emotionally charged portrayal. No amount of cinematic exaggeration can rewrite history or shake the PLA’s determination to defend China’s sovereign territory.” The report further noted that the film has attracted criticism over alleged inaccuracies in costumes, hairstyles, depictions of extreme cold, and what users described as a narrative that does not align with historical events.

‘Ikkis’ gets censor clearance

The patriotic drama Ikkis, slated for a 2026 release, has received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Originally scheduled for December 25, the film was later shifted to January 1. However, producers reportedly sought certification in hopes of securing a Christmas release. According to Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC suggested changes to the opening disclaimer and asked for a special acknowledgment of the Poona Horse Regiment, Colonel Hanut Singh, and the tank crew through a voiceover. The film reportedly opens with visuals of warriors accompanied by a narration introducing Arun’s tank crew.
