Dhurandhar crosses Rs 1000 cr WW in just 22 days

Dhurandhar crosses Rs 1000 crore worldwide in just 22 days, becomes the 9th Indian film to reach milestone

Aditya Dhar’s spy action thriller Dhurandhar has created history at the box office by storming past the Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide. Led by Ranveer Singh, the film has become the 9th Indian film ever and the first release of 2025 to enter the prestigious Rs 1000 crore club, firmly cementing its status as a modern blockbuster. The film reached the milestone in just 22 days, making it the second fastest Bollywood film to achieve the feat—an extraordinary accomplishment that reflects its unstoppable momentum across domestic and international markets.

Adult-rated film defies odds with massive word of mouth

What makes Dhurandhar’s achievement even more remarkable is the fact that it is an adult-rated film, a category traditionally considered restrictive in terms of audience reach. Despite this limitation, the film has continued its dream run, driven by strong word of mouth, repeat viewership and sustained occupancy. At the Indian box office, Dhurandhar has emerged as the highest-grossing Bollywood film, while overseas markets—especially North America—have delivered sensational numbers, setting new benchmarks for a Bollywood spy thriller.

Joining legends: From Baahubali 2 to Kalki 2898 AD

The Rs 1000 crore milestone was first achieved by SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in 2017, which went on to collect Rs 1788.06 crore worldwide. Aamir Khan and Nitesh Tiwari’s Dangal later surpassed all records to become the only Indian film to cross Rs 2000 crore, a record it still holds. Since then, the elite club has expanded with films like Rajamouli’s RRR (Rs 1230 crore), Prashanth Neel’s KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 1215 crore), Atlee’s Jawan (Rs 1160 crore), Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan (Rs 1055 crore) and Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD (Rs 1042.25 crore).Dhurandhar now joins this league with a worldwide total of Rs 1006.7 crore in just 22 days.

Strong hold continues as film eyes bigger numbers

With its hold still intact across key circuits, Dhurandhar is expected to add significantly to its already historic total in the coming days. The film has collected Rs 648.50 crore domestically so far, underlining its dominance at the Indian box office.Starring Ranveer Singh alongside an ensemble cast featuring Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan and others, Dhurandhar stands tall as one of the most significant box office phenomena in Indian cinema history. The sequel, Dhurandhar 2, is slated to hit theatres on March 19, 2026, with expectations already soaring sky-high. Go to Source
