‘Dhurandhar’ box office collection day 20 (LIVE)

'Dhurandhar' box office collection day 20 (LIVE): The Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan starrer expected to touch Rs 600 crore by the end of its third week, dominates over 'Avatar Fire And Ash'

‘Dhurandhar’ which released in cinemas on December 5 has now reached its day 20 and has been enjoying a phenomenal run at the box office. The film has not only broken a list of records but also become an internet sensation with every actor getting accolades – right from Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal to Rakesh Bedi and Sanjay Dutt. After making Rs 253.25 crore in week 2, the film saw growth over the third weekend and made Rs 34.25 crore and Rs 38.5 crore respectively on Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, day 18 of its run, the film collected Rs 16 crore by evening. Tuesday, day 19, ‘Dhurandhar’ has seen some growth as compared to the Monday numbers. It made Rs 17.25 crore. However, it may see drop on Wednesday. Till afternoon, it has made Rs 1.76 crore. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 591.26 crore. Dhurandhar’ is expected to breach the Rs 600 by the end of its third week on Thursday. The momentum is likely to continue into the fourth week, especially with the New Year holidays boosting footfalls. With little to no major releases lined up through January, the film is well placed to enjoy a sustained theatrical run at least until ‘Border 2’ arrives around Republic Day. There’s ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ releasing on December 25, but it will have to really strive hard and depend largely on positive word of mouth in order to get more screens and shine at the box office. ‘Dhurandhar’ is currently on course to rewrite box-office history and overtake the Rs 738 crore nett lifetime collection of ‘Pushpa 2’ (Hindi), positioning itself as the highest-grossing Hindi film ever. That said, reaching the ₹800 crore nett benchmark may prove challenging, unless the film once again exceeds expectations.
