KOCHI: Kochi city police decided to close the much-discussed drug-related case involving actor Shine Tom Chacko after forensic examination reports returned negative, ruling out drug use. With this development, cops will withdraw Shine as primary accused in the case.The second accused, Ahmed Murshad of Malappuram, was also given a clean chit. Nail & hair samples collected from both were sent for forensic analysis. Police received results Monday, confirming the absence of narcotic substances.The case attracted attention in April following scenes at a luxury hotel in Kaloor when a Dansaf (district anti-narcotic special action force) team conducted an inspection based on secret information about alleged drug transactions. Shine, who was staying at the hotel, allegedly fled after noticing cops, jumping from his third-floor room into the swimming pool below.
