When Ahaan Panday confessed to trying his first cigarette at 15

When Ahaan Panday confessed to trying his first cigarette at 15, said his sister Alanna made him do it: 'I had underdeveloped lungs'

Ahaan Panday just had the best year of his life and Bollywood got a new superstar as his film ‘Saiyaara’ directed by Mohit Suri is one of the biggest hits this year. As Ahaan literally rose to fame overnight and is immensely popular on the internet, several old videos of him are now going viral. Before seeing him in ‘Saiyaara’, fans have gotten glimpses of him through appearances in his sister Alanna Panday’s YouTube vlogs. Alanna is a influencer. In one such video, Ahaan revisited his childhood and made a surprising confession calling himself the “least pampered” member of the Panday family. He also confessed in this vlog that his sister made him try his first cigarette at the age of 15. Sharing an anecdote from his early years, Ahaan revealed that he spent seven years living in what he described as a corridor. When Alanna quickly corrected him by saying it was a room, he clarified that it was actually a room constructed within a passageway. Speaking about the unusual setup, he said, “It was a corridor first. One side was the exit, and the other side were my dad and Dadi’s bedrooms. I was in the passageway. Everyone would see me in my towel everyday.”The conversation took an even more unexpected turn when the 27-year-old actor disclosed that he had his first cigarette at the age of 15—and blamed his sister for it. According to Ahaan, Alanna had once called him into the bathroom and encouraged him to try smoking.Clearly stunned by the claim, Alanna immediately reacted, saying, “You can’t say this sh*t man. He’s lying. He’s making me sound like such a bad sister. I was just excited that I had discovered something and I wanted to share it with him.” Ahaan, however, responded with sarcasm, remarking, “I was 15. I had underdeveloped lungs and you are giving me cigarettes, all out of love.”For the uninitiated, Ahaan Panday is the younger son of Chikki Panday, who is actor Chunky Panday’s brother. He is also the younger sibling of Alanna Panday, who welcomed her son Edward Ivor ‘River’ McCray VI with husband Ivor McCray in 2024. Meanwhile, Ahaan also has been in the news for rumours of his relationship with ‘Saiyaara’ co-star Aneet Padda but he has denied it. The actor admitted that they are best friends.
