Can Ranveer become fastest star to score Rs 2,000 crore?

'Dhurandhar' box office success: Can Ranveer Singh beat Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas to become Bollywood's fastest actor to clock Rs 2,000 crore?

Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ continued its extraordinary box office run, well into week 3. The film that has broken several box office records along the way, is now gearing up to hit another historic milestone in Indian cinema. With the film maintaining a strong hold over the ticket windows in India, reports indicate that leading man Ranveer is now on course to join an exclusive club with Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas as the only actors to date to achieve this feat.

‘Dhurandhar’ crosses Rs 500 crore mark

With ‘Dhurandhar’ becoming only the 13th film to cross the Rs 500 crore net mark in India, reports on Sacnilk state that the movie is on track to cross the Rs 1,000 crore mark at the worldwide box office. In just a matter of days, Ranveer is set to become only the third Indian leading man to achieve this feat. Until now, only Shah Rukh and Prabhas have crossed this milestone.

Actors who have 2 films in Rs 1,000 crore club

Interestingly, both superstars are also the exclusive members of the Rs 2,000 crore club. While SRK has Rs 1,000 crore films like ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’ under his belt, and Prabhas has ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, which hit the mark. While Prabhas’ films took years to hit a double Rs 1,000 crore, Shah Rukh was able to score back-to-back hits in 2023. However, Singh may just surpass both their records with ‘Dhurandhar 2’ locked and ready for a March 2026 release. Keeping in mind the current trend and high anticipation for the sequel, trade circles are buzzing with speculation that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ could also breach the Rs 1,000 crore mark.

Ranveer Singh to set new box office record

If all goes according to predictions, Ranveer would create a record by delivering two Rs 1,000 crore global grossers in under 120 days. This is a feat yet to be achieved in Indian cinema. While most other films to near this milestone has released in multiple languages, ‘Dhurandhar’ has managed to do so by releasing the film in just the Hindi language. ‘Dhurandhar’ was on course to become the fastest Hindi film to hit the Rs 1,000 crore mark, beating Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’, which achieved this in 18 days. However, the film’s golden run was hampered by the release of ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, which ate into the film’s box office profits this past weekend. ‘Dhurandhar’ still made it out on top, with an impressive Rs 95 crore haul, while ‘Avatar 3’ scored an estimated Rs 66 crore collection.
