India’s motto is ‘Make in India, Make for the World’, says PM Modi

NEW DELHI: In a message suffused with ‘vikas’ and ‘virasat’, PM Modi told members of Indian diaspora in Oman that India is scaling new heights of development under his govt as he emphasised the strength of the country’s diversity that has made them a living example of coexistence and cooperation in their adopted homes.”Our diya of Diwali will not only illuminate our home but the whole world. This a matter of pride for Indians living across the globe,” he said, highlighting Unesco’s recognition of Diwali as an “intangible cultural heritage of humanity” amid cheers from the members of Indian community. It is a wonderful acknowledgement of India’s rich cultural heritage, he said. His govt, Modi said, is adding the strength of manufacturing to IT and IT-enabled service, a field in which India has done well, driven by the motto of “Make in India, Make for the world”.Citing India’s work in “mission mode” in chips-manufacturing, quantum computing and green hydrogen, he said India is finding solutions to its problems as well as focusing on making the lives of people better globally. India remains the fastest growing major economy and notched up a growth rate of 8.2% when the world is beset with challenges, he added.Lauding the diverse members of the diaspora as mini India, Modi praised Oman’s monarchy for its support to them and the “maitri parv” being celebrated which marks a milestone in the historical ties and shared history of the two countries. He defined ‘maitri’ as maritime heritage, aspirations, innovation, trust and technology, respect and inclusive growth.India and Oman are not joined merely by geography but generations, he said dwelling on their early maritime ties and told the Indian community that they are biggest custodian of the centuries-old relation. He said the ties started by trade are being strengthened by education, noting that over 46,000 students are studying in Indian schools in Oman. The entire region is special for India, more so Oman, he emphasised.Asking students to visit Isro campus in Bengaluru, he said time is not far when India will have its own station in space. India in 21st century takes big decisions and takes them swiftly, sets big goals and doesn’t rest until it delivers results within a defined timeline, Modi asserted.
