The special gesture by the Ethiopian leadership is reflective of the importance the two countries attach to each other as Global South partners,” said the Indian govt in a statement on the welcome ceremony for Modi.”Today we got the opportunity to discuss key dimensions of our cooperation such as economy, innovation, technology, defense, health, capacity building and multilateral cooperation. I am happy that today we have decided to double the student scholarships for Ethiopia in India,” Modi said while thanking the Ethiopian PM for his condolences on the Pahalgam terror attack and for support in the fight against terrorism.Earlier, Modi on Tuesday described his two-day visit to Jordan as “immensely productive”, saying his talks with King Abdullah II have strengthened the two nations’ partnership across key areas. During the PM’s Jordan visit, both countries signed five MoUs in the areas of renewable energy, water resource management, cultural exchange, digital solution and twinning between Petra and Ellora, two Unesco heritage sites. On X, Modi said discussions with King Abdullah II have strengthened the India-Jordan partnership across key areas such as renewable energy, water management, digital transformation, cultural exchanges and heritage cooperation. “The outcomes we have achieved together will open new avenues for progress and prosperity for our citizens.” he said.
