Priyanka Chopra touches down in Nairobi for SSMB29 with Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli; shares videos from her safari - WATCH

After a long schedule in Hyderabad, Priyanka Chopra has touched down in Nairobi to commence the next schedule of filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu in the lead. Late Tuesday night, PeeCee took to her handle to share photos from her Nairobi-bound flight. Fans were then treated to glimpses from the actress’ safari into “pride lands”. Taking to her handle, she posted videos of herself enjoying her time in the great outdoors, taking in the fresh air and spotting the animals in the wild.

From sharing photos of hyenas to buffaloes, ostriches, and hippos, she took fans along on her adventurous day out.

Rajamouli’s update on SSMB29

News broke last month about the team’s decision to move base to Africa to shoot some intense action and other chase sequences for the upcoming adventure film. The excitement around SSMB 29 has only intensified since Rajamouli’s recent birthday message for Mahesh Babu. In the note, the acclaimed director addressed fans’ curiosity, writing: “Dear film enthusiasts in India and across the globe, as well as Mahesh’s fans, it has been some time since we commenced filming, and we appreciate your enthusiasm to learn more about the movie. However, the narrative and scale of this film are so extensive that I believe simple images or press events cannot adequately convey it. We are currently developing something to present the essence, richness, and immersive universe we are crafting. This will be revealed in November 2025, and we aim to make it a NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN presentation.”

Priyanka’s return to Indian cinema

The Nairobi schedule follows the lengthy Hyderabad schedule. While Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu have been busy at work on the film, leading lady Priyanka has been seen juggling her time between her various film commitments. She began work on the film while also filming for her Hollywood actioner ‘The Bluff’ and amidst promotions for her OTT film ‘Heads Of State’.The film marks Chopra’s grand return to Indian cinema after several international projects, making it one of the most closely watched productions of the year. The pan-India spectacle is reportedly eyeing a March 25, 2027 release, although these reports are still unconfirmed.
