Laalo-Krishna Sada Sahaayate becomes 30th biggest hit of the year

Gujarati film ‘Laalo-Krishna Sada Sahaayate’ becomes 30th biggest hit of the year beating Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Daaku Maharaj’

Gujarati film Laalo-Krishna Sada Sahaayate has achieved a remarkable box office feat, becoming the 30th biggest hit of the year with Rs 92 crore. Defying expectations, the film’s success was driven by strong word-of-mouth and cultural resonance, unlike Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaj. Laalo’s impressive rise, particularly from its fifth week onwards, showcases the growing power of regional cinema.

The Gujarati film industry has scored a notable box office victory as Laalo-Krishna Sada Sahaayate continues its remarkable theatrical run. In its 10th week in cinemas, the film has officially emerged as the 30th biggest hit of the year, overtaking Nandamuri Balakrishna’s action entertainer Daaku Maharaj. With a total collection of Rs 92 crore, Laalo- Krishna Sada Sahaayate has edged past Daaku Maharaj, which wrapped up its run at Rs 91.23 crore. What makes this achievement particularly significant is the scale and nature of the two films. While Daaku Maharaj arrived with the advantage of having a superstar like Balakrishna and strong expectations from the mass-action genre, Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate relied primarily on word of mouth, cultural connect, and sustained audience support in its home market. The Gujarati film’s steady climb has once again underlined the growing strength of regional cinema beyond mainstream releases. What makes Laalo a true phenomenon is not how it opened, but how dramatically it rose. At a time when most films peak early, Laalo defied convention. It began modestly with just Rs 33 lakh in Week 1 and dipped further to Rs 27 lakh in Week 2, numbers that usually signal an early exit from theatres. However, destiny intervened. Driven by extraordinary word of mouth and a deep emotional connect, the film surged to Rs 62 lakh in Week 3. The real explosion came in Week 4 with Rs 12.08 crore, followed by a stunning Rs 25.70 crore in Week 5. Strong momentum continued through Week 6 (Rs 24.40 crore), Week 7 (Rs 15.7 crore), Week 8 (Rs 8.5 crore) and Week 9 (Rs 4.15 crore), cementing Laalo as a rare box office miracle. In contrast, Daaku Maharaj enjoyed a much faster-paced run but saw its collections taper off earlier. Despite strong openings and initial traction, the Balakrishna starrer concluded its box office journey at Rs 91.23 crore, falling just short of the mark now claimed by Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate. As it continues its theatrical run, Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate may yet add more to its tally, strengthening its final position on the yearly box office chart.
