Taylor’s ‘Showgirl’ album upsets Britney Spears, Pamela

Taylor Swift announces 'The Life of a Showgirl' album, but Britney Spears and Pamela Anderson are NOT happy with it, here's why

Taylor Swift announced her new album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ on a podcast recently. She also revealed that it will be out on October 3 this year. While Swifties are excited and eagerly waiting for the album to drop, not everyone in the pop music scene and Hollywood is happy. According to the reports, actress Pamela Anderson and pop icon Britney Spears are upset, as they feel that the album’s theme, costumes, and visuals are heavily inspired by their iconic looks, and no credits have been given to them.

Britney Spears is not happy with Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’

A report in Radar Online stated that Britney Spears feels that Taylor Swift took inspiration from her 2001 ‘Dream Within a Dream Tour’ costume. The new cover of Swift’s album features her in a rhinestone top, fringed armbands, and bejeweled bottoms that were similar to Britney’s iconic outfit. The publication quoted an insider, “She (Britney) even feels she should have a credit in the liner notes.” The person also added that the ‘Toxic’ singer feels “ripped off.” As per the report, the pop veteran has no issues with the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer being inspired by the look; however, she is unhappy seeing it “repackaged without so much as a nod feels wrong.”

Here’s why Pamela Anderson is upset with Taylor Swift

The same report stated that even Pamela Anderson is upset with Taylor Swift, as she feels that the latter’s new album’s vibe resembles her 2024 film, ‘The Last Showgirl’. The pop star’s album visuals, a vintage Vegas aesthetic, are similar to Anderson’s costume in the movie. The website further quoted a source, “Pamela put her heart into ‘The Last Showgirl’. The colors and the vintage Vegas feel—it’s all over Taylor’s new visuals.” Again, the insider added that Pamela has no hard feelings about Swift taking inspiration but believes “recognition is deserved.”
