War Update: US–Iran War of Words Intensifies as Oil Price Warning Sparks Global Concern

The war of words between the United States and Iran has intensified amid the ongoing regional conflict. Donald Trump claimed that he could stop the war whenever he chooses and suggested that the conflict might end soon. However, Iranian officials responded by saying that if the United States had truly won the war, it would not be discussing a ceasefire. Iran also stated that any ceasefire talks would require a guarantee that the US will never attack Iran again. Trump further claimed that US forces have destroyed 7,000 to 8,000 Iranian missiles and are continuing strikes on Iran’s drone manufacturing facilities. He also said that American forces have destroyed 28 Iranian ships involved in laying naval mines near the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Iran warned that global crude oil prices could rise to $200 per barrel if security conditions worsen in the Middle East. The International Energy Agency has requested the release of 400 million barrels of oil reserves, while G7 countries discuss measures to prevent a global energy crisis.
