Strait of Hormuz Tensions: Strait of Hormuz Crisis Deepens as Iran–US–Israel War Enters Day 17

The Middle East war has entered its 17th day, with tensions rising as Iran confronts the alliance of the United States and Israel. The conflict is now centered around the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil shipping route. Iran has warned it may block the strait for its adversaries, raising concerns over global trade and energy supplies. Diplomatic efforts are underway as Keir Starmer reportedly spoke with Donald Trump about reopening the route and ensuring safe navigation. Trump has also urged China to help keep the strait open. Meanwhile, fighting continues with Israeli airstrikes reportedly destroying an Iranian drone storage facility, while Iran launched retaliatory missile and drone attacks on Israeli cities. Iran-backed militias also targeted a US position near Baghdad International Airport. With rising military activity and oil prices nearing $100 per barrel, experts warn the conflict could expand further across the region.
