Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on Thursday said that Russia is ready to contribute in resolving the military situation in Iran “as soon as possible”. Peskov, while responding to a question about US President Donald Trump’s speech about the Iran war, said that Vladimir Putin is continuing to talk with regional leaders. “The president is continuing these contacts, and if our services are somehow required, we are, of course, ready to make our contribution to ensuring that the military situation transitions to a peaceful course as soon as possible,” Peskov told reporters.
‘Going To Finish Job Very Fast’: Trump
This remark came hours after Donald Trump said that he expects the war involving Iran to continue for another two to three weeks, though he suggested it is nearing its conclusion.
Speaking from the White House, Trump highlighted what he described as major successes in the US military campaign, known as Operation Epic Fury, and reiterated his recent message that the conflict will not drag on much longer.
“We are going to finish the job, and we’re going to finish it very fast,” he said.
Trump Threatens to Strike Iran ‘Extremely Hard’
Trump said the US is prepared to strike Iran “extremely hard” within the next two to three weeks, signaling a potential escalation in tensions. His remarks suggest that hopes for a near-term end to the conflict may be fading.
At the same time, he noted that diplomatic talks are still ongoing, indicating that a negotiated resolution has not been ruled out despite the strong rhetoric.
The conflict began on February 28, when the United States and Israel launched strikes across Iran. One of those attacks reportedly killed Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.
