Middle East Crisis: Iranian Drones Reportedly Spotted Over Iraq as US–Iran Military Tensions Intensify

Fresh concerns have emerged in the Middle East after drones reportedly linked to Iran were spotted flying over Iraqi airspace, prompting heightened security measures by the United States. Videos recorded by local residents allegedly show multiple drones crossing into Iraq, with reports suggesting they could be heading toward areas hosting American military installations. In response, U.S. air defence systems have reportedly been placed on high alert to monitor and counter any potential threat. The developments come amid renewed military escalation between Washington and Tehran following reports that an American AH-64 Apache helicopter was brought down near the Strait of Hormuz. Although Iran has reportedly claimed the incident was unintentional, U.S. President Donald Trump vowed retaliation, leading to extensive American airstrikes on several Iranian locations. Reports indicate that military and strategic sites in Bandar Abbas, Bushehr, Ahvaz, and other southern regions were targeted by fighter jets and heavy bombers, with some facilities related to water and energy infrastructure also allegedly affected. The latest exchange has further heightened fears of a broader regional conflict involving multiple countries in the Middle East.
