Defense: US Military Downs Two Iranian Attack Drones in Strait of Hormuz

The United States military has reportedly intercepted and destroyed two Iranian one-way attack drones over the Strait of Hormuz, claiming they posed a threat to international commercial shipping. According to reports, the drones were detected in time by US defense systems and shot down before they could endanger maritime traffic. The incident comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and follows ongoing military confrontations involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. Separately, US media reports have claimed that concerns are growing within the Pentagon over alleged Israeli intelligence activities targeting American officials and internal government information. The reports identify individuals involved in Iran-related policy and defense matters as possible targets. However, the Israeli government has strongly denied the allegations, stating that it does not spy on US institutions or officials and that its intelligence efforts are directed only against adversaries. Meanwhile, the Pentagon has declined to comment publicly on the reports, even as speculation continues over policy differences between Washington and Tel Aviv regarding Iran.
