Escalating dispute between the United States and Iran over control of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route. According to the report, the U.S. Navy is increasing its presence in the region and preparing measures to control maritime traffic through the Strait, including a proposed toll system announced by President Donald Trump. The report explains that Iran currently maintains strategic positions around the Strait through locations such as Qeshm Island, Larak Island, Bandar Abbas, and Hormuz Island. Meanwhile, the U.S. Fifth Fleet, based in Bahrain, is reportedly positioned in the Gulf region to challenge Iran’s influence. The report claims Washington is considering a naval blockade to restrict Iranian shipping access to the Gulf of Oman and beyond. Iran, however, argues that it has historically controlled the waterway and may impose its own transit charges. Analysts warn that any disruption to the Strait of Hormuz could create a major global energy crisis, affecting Gulf economies and international oil supplies. The standoff has increased fears of a wider regional conflict.
