Big Update: Iran Team to Meet Pakistan PM Before US Talks as JD Vance Nears Islamabad

A significant diplomatic development is unfolding in Islamabad as the Iranian delegation is set to meet Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ahead of crucial negotiations with the United States. The meeting is expected to shape the agenda before direct engagement between Washington and Iran begins. The Iranian delegation, led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, will first present its key demands to Pakistani leadership. These include easing sanctions, unfreezing assets, halting military actions in the region, and addressing compensation for war-related damages. The discussions with Pakistan are seen as a critical step in aligning positions before the main talks. Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance is expected to arrive shortly, with his aircraft currently en route via Central Asia. His presence highlights Washington’s urgency to push negotiations forward amid growing domestic and global pressure. Key sticking points remain, particularly over the Strait of Hormuz, nuclear ambitions, and regional military presence. Analysts note that while diplomacy has begun, trust deficits and conflicting demands could hinder progress. Pakistan, acting as mediator, faces a crucial test in balancing both sides. The outcome of today’s engagements may determine whether the region moves toward de-escalation or prolonged instability.
