Bangladesh has announced a one-day state mourning following the death of opposition leader Usman Hadi, a prominent face of the July Revolution. The announcement was made by the interim Yunus-led government after Hadi succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment in Singapore. Hadi was reportedly shot by assailants on December 11, and his death was officially confirmed through a public post by Muhammad Yunus. As news spread, large crowds gathered across Dhaka and other regions, with protests quickly turning violent. Incidents of vandalism and arson have been reported, raising serious concerns about law and order. Police and local administration appear overwhelmed as tensions continue to escalate nationwide.
