Ganesh Chaturthi is as much a cultural spectacle as it is a religious one, ten days of devotion, grandeur, and a showcase of the finest festive fashion. Every year, celebrities embrace traditional wear for the occasion, turning it into a style guide for fans across the country.

This year, Tara Sutaria made headlines not just for her elegant look but also for sharing her first official post with her boyfriend, Veer Pahariya. While the two have been spotted together before, this Ganesh Chaturthi marked their much-talked-about “hard launch” as a couple on social media.

Tara Sutaria’s Ethereal Saree Look

For the festival, Tara chose a champagne-gold tissue Kanjivaram saree by designer Tarun Tahiliani, a piece that radiated understated luxury. The saree, priced at approximately ₹4,39,900 on the designer’s official website, stood out for its meticulous detailing. From delicate pearl embellishments on the pallu to a heavily worked aari border featuring floral thread motifs and sequined patterns, the craftsmanship made it a true couture statement.

To complement the opulent drape, Tara styled it with a polki choker necklace, chunky gold bangles, and traditional jhumkas. Her hair was pulled back into a sleek bun adorned with a jasmine gajra, adding a timeless desi touch. Finishing the look, she kept her makeup minimal with a soft, dewy glow and a pearl-shaped bindi—subtle yet striking, allowing the saree’s artistry to take centre stage.

Veer Pahariya’s Understated Ensemble

In contrast, Veer Pahariya kept things simple in a plain white sherwani, free from embroidery or embellishments. His pared-back approach offered a stark balance to Tara’s regal appearance, though some might argue the look bordered on underdressed. Minimalist menswear has its charm, but against Tara’s dazzling couture, Veer’s outfit leaned more toward understated than festive.

On the Work Front

While her personal life grabbed attention this festive season, Tara continues to make waves professionally too. She was last seen in Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s thriller Apurva (2023) and has previously featured in films like Ek Villain Returns, Heropanti 2, Tadap, and Marjaavaan. She debuted in Bollywood in 2019 with Student of the Year 2. More recently, on July 17, 2025, she appeared in AP Dhillon’s hit music video Thodi Si Daaru. Beyond the screen, she also turned heads at India Couture Week 2025 in Delhi, walking the runway for Rose Room by Isha Jajodia in a statement gown.
