We spoke with Tarang Arora, CEO & Creative Director, Amrapali Jewels, and Darayus Mehta, co-founder, True Diamonds, about the jewellery pieces that embody the festive spirit of Onam.

For Tarang Arora, Onam jewellery begins with tradition. “A classic gold temple necklace is essential, it carries blessings and instantly elevates the festive look,” he explains.
Adding a contemporary counterpart, Darayus Mehta points to a rare Portuguese-cut diamond jewel with 160+ facets framed by floral accents. “Like the blooming pookalam, it celebrates abundance, grace, and the joy of gathering together, a jewel as radiant as the season’s golden light.”

For Arora, jhumkas are a staple. “A pair of timeless jhumkas instantly brings the festive look alive.” Mehta mirrors this sentiment through the symbolism of eternity: “A circle without end, the Eternity Band, with its seamless row of diamonds reflects the season’s spirit of abundance, blessings, and renewal, much like the endless cycle of harvest and celebration.”

“Bold bangles or kadas are essential for richness and grandeur,” Arora notes. “They add drama and amplify the sense of festivity.” Mehta’s modern take comes in the form of a wave-inspired diamond design. “Its fluid shimmer echoes the rhythm of dance, music, and togetherness that fills the air during these joyous days.”
