On Onam, Keerthy Suresh reminded her fans that festive dressing can be both rooted in tradition and strikingly modern. For her Thiruvonam look this year, the actor delivered a look that merged Kerala’s cultural essence with her own understated sense of style. Her outfit was a nod to heritage, yet carried details that made it feel fresh, fashion-forward, and uniquely Keerthy.

For the occasion, Keerthy Suresh chose a cream saree that reimagined the timeless Kasavu. Instead of a plain drape, the saree was embroidered with delicate florals in shades of pink, orange, and purple, adding a gentle playfulness to the otherwise serene palette. Anchoring the design was a slim golden border, keeping intact the authenticity of the Kasavu’s centuries-old weaving tradition. Originating in Kerala during the Travancore reign of the 18th century, Kasavu textiles have long been integral to Onam celebrations.

The real twist, however, came with her blouse. Eschewing the expected blouse styles, Keerthy opted for a strapless gold corset. Structured yet subtle, it added a dash of glamour to the traditional drape, striking a fine balance between sultry sophistication and festive elegance.

True to her style philosophy, Keerthy kept her accessories impactful yet restrained. A double-layered choker, classic jhumkas, and stacked gold bangles made for a statement ensemble without overwhelming the saree’s charm. She left her hair loose in soft waves and chose a muted makeup palette: natural skin, soft blush, and glossy lips. Adding a touch of whimsy, she paired the outfit with retro round sunglasses, a playful detail that instantly elevated the look.

This Onam also carried personal significance. It was Keerthy’s first with her husband, Antony Thattil. While Keerthy made waves with her stylish saree, Antony kept it traditional in a crisp white kurta and a Kerala mundu edged with a gold border, complementing her ensemble beautifully.

Keerthy’s Thiruvonam style proves yet again that the Kasavu saree is a timeless canvas, one that can evolve with changing fashion sensibilities. By infusing heritage with modernity, she makes festive dressing aspirational for a new generation while honouring the roots of Kerala’s culture.
