Worried about your dull skin before the Diwali parties? Here are some expert-approved skincare tips that will help you to restore your skin’s natural glow.

Hydrating masks and facial oils add instant glow.
The festive season calls for flawless selfies, sparkling outfits, and that elusive glow. But between late-night parties, endless errands, and sugar-laden treats, your skin might be telling a different story. The good news? Dermatologists insist you don’t need hours or a facial appointment to bring back your radiance. All it takes is ten minutes and a few targeted tricks.
Ice, Masks, and Oils: A Glow in Progress

According to Dr. Rupika Singh, MBBS, MD, Dermatologist and Founder of Akiya Aesthetics, “You can revive dull, tired skin with small yet powerful rituals before stepping out. Even dipping your face in ice-cold water works wonders. It tightens pores, reduces puffiness, and instantly boosts circulation.”
She recommends following it up with a hydrating sheet mask infused with hyaluronic acid or vitamin C. “These act like a mini facial, quenching dehydrated skin and reviving your complexion,” she adds.
Next, a touch of gentle exfoliation helps. “Removing dead cells immediately brightens the skin. Finish with a few drops of lightweight facial oil. This adds instant luminosity and enhances blood flow,” says Dr. Singh.
And don’t underestimate a quick massage. “Just two to three minutes of upward strokes can lift your features and reduce puffiness,” she explains. Seal it all in with a face mist and moisturiser, which keep your glow intact and make your makeup last longer through the night.
Serums, Steam, and Smart Shortcuts
Adding to the pre-party skincare toolkit, Dr. Geeta Grewal, Cosmetologist and Founder of 9Muses Wellness Clinic, believes that radiance can be restored through smart, skin-friendly steps. “A quick oxygen boost – either through an oxygen-rich mist or two minutes of deep breathing – instantly refreshes the skin,” she says.
Her next go-to? “Brightening serums with vitamin C or niacinamide are your best bet for a luminous, healthy-looking face. They’re light, quick to absorb, and work well under makeup.”
Dr. Grewal also suggests not forgetting smaller areas that show fatigue first. “A nourishing balm on the lips and cooling gel patches under the eyes erase tiredness in minutes,” she advises.
For a finishing touch, she recommends a hydrating primer with light-reflecting particles as it smoothens imperfections and gives an effortless glow. And if you can spare a minute more, “lean into steam. It opens up pores and allows skincare products to penetrate better,” she adds.
The Last-Minute Glow Philosophy
Both experts agree that these pre-party hacks are SOS solutions, not replacements for consistent care. Glowing skin is built through hydration, sunscreen, and a balanced diet, but festive emergencies call for festive fixes.
So when the Diwali lights are lit and time is running out, reach for your ice bowl, serum, and mist. Because sometimes, all it takes is 10 minutes to go from dull to dazzling – no filters required.
