Global luxury downturn or not, with 29 couturiers and two new entrants listed on the official calendar, Paris Couture season is looking buoyant for its next runway in January.

Â
The next season of the highest expression of fashion on the planet is scheduled to run from Monday, January 26 to Thursday, January 28.
Â
Paris will welcome two new guest houses- Celia Kritharioti and Phan Huy- onto the official calendar released on Thursday by the Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, which controls all runway seasons in Paris, the catwalk capital of the planet.
Phan Huy has already staged in Paris during the ready-to-wear season, but his debut in couture will mark the first time a couturier from Vietnam has been listed on the official couture week calendar. Celia Kritharioti has also presented couture collections before in Paris, though again this is her first listing on the approved French schedule.
Â
However, the most keenly awaited collections will be the couture debuts of Matthieu Blazy at Chanel and Jonathan Anderson at Dior. Both of them have staged their debut ready-to-wear shows for their respective houses, though this will mark their first couture shows for France’s two most famous fashion labels.
Â
Attention will also be focused on Giorgio Armani Privé, as the Milan maison will present its first couture collection since the death of its founder in September.
Â
Otherwise, the season is packed with famed marques, with Schiaparelli again opening the action, followed by the likes of Rahul Mishra, Giambattista Valli, Stéphane Rolland, Elie Saab, Valentino, Viktor & Rolf, and Germanier, who ends the season on Thursday evening.
Â
As in recent seasons, the house of Patou will stage a ready-to-wear show on the afternoon of Sunday, January 25, a palette cleanser by the LVMH-owned brand as the Paris menswear season ends, before the city transitions into couture.
