EssilorLuxottica and Meta have launched the next generation of its Ray-Ban Meta glasses in India, tapping into the country’s growing demand for AI powered wearables, after debuting the Ray-Ban Meta glasses in the country earlier in the year.

The ‘Gen 2’ glasses, now available online in India, include a range of new features such as longer battery life and an ultra-wide camera that now captures video in 3K Ultra HD, the business announced in a press release. The glasses come in three new seasonal colours, designed to position the glasses as a style statement, and feature a five-mic system, open-ear speakers, and hands-free filming.
As part of its focus on the Indian market, the AI powered glasses now enable wearers to select Hindi as their preferred language, available for all features. Bollywood celebrity Deepika Padukone has also joined Meta AI’s global lineup of voices for its assistant function, speaking in English alongside a list of global celebrities.
“The launch of Ray-Ban Meta in India redefined what consumers expect from eyewear, blending timeless style with intelligent technology,” said a local spokesperson. “The first drop received an exceptional response from both loyalists and tech enthusiasts alike. With Gen 2, we’re building on that success by delivering an even more elevated and intuitive experience, further strengthening our growing community of connected consumers.”
